I haven't seen any posts about these devices. I'm leaning toward this one to cut down on the amount of stuff he has to carry with him. With this device he could take the photos and do the recording. Any one have comments on the IFP-1095?

Just an opinion, but I wouldn't consider the camera as a reason to get the newer model. iRiver lists the camera's specs as "0.3 megapixel," which is really quite horrible. That's a picture resolution of 640x480 -- you could maybe have pictures that are good enough to post on the Web, if the camera's exposure settings don't suck, but getting prints made would be out of the question.

I just found out from iRiver that you can't connect an external MIC to this series of iRivers. I won't be getting this one.
