It's that time of the year again - as I father of three amazing kids I can say that this little holiday still makes me a little giddy. It's summer time, the BBQ is fired, cans of beer popped open, the air is filled with freshly cut grass...
**** it's good to be a DAD and this weekend is one of the finer perks!
So folks, whether you are one, have one, or want to become one - what's on you wish/gift list...
Topping my list today:
- A Presonus Blue Tube Pre-Amp
- A Big Pop Screen (excuse the pun)
- Anything by The Mars Volta

Hell, I'd be happy just staying home.
I have a crotchity 70-something father-in-law that lives nearby.
We do what he wants...which means, usually, doing what my mother-in-law wants (funny how that works out), which means dragging the kids somewhere generally not intended for kids, whereby after the ruckus they create becames to much of an annoyance to those anywhere around us, I end up sitting in the car with the kids.
I love my kids, but father's day sucks my balls.
I'm glad you get the goods.
Rock on.

This is my first father's day. My boy just turned 7 months. Not planning on doing much, just hanging at the house w/him.

Congrats! and welcome to the club.
Hanging out with your kids is usually gift enough, while they still want to...
Sooner or later they will avoid you - tragic but true...

That's the best way to spend it.
My son has a T-ball awards thing and then we'll just be chilling. That's the best part.

Hey CC, do you know any good "Father" songs?
There are plenty of Mother songs, and I bet a few "who's your Daddy?" ditties - but songs about fatherhood outside of Harry Chapin's Cat's In the Cradle - I don't remember...
Anyone remember any father songs?

I don't know any happy father songs, but I'd be the wrong person to ask.
You could always search at Garage Band for song titles with the word "father."

I especially like the tune " I Caught Daddy Watching Cartoons!"

Dads get F'd over on songs for the most part. Being a huge Harry Chapin fan he instantly came to mind and I'm sitting here trying to think of others.
There are some from dads to their kids. "Butterfly Kisses" from a few years back comes to mind although I can't think of the artist for the life of me. Was about giving his daughter butter fly kisses. Ah...Bob Carlisle is the guys name/
