In Case You've not seen this cool tool (http://mydensity.com/) from Persuadio yet, it will show all the sites that link to a particular URL.

Those pictures mean nothing to my simple mind. I see about 15 links, then lines in the background.

(I think) You need Java plug-in and IE

You could also try this little trick in Google...
Type links: mental-escher.net into the search box to see what sites Google has listed as linking to you.

Here's a cool firefox plugin
http://quirk.co.za/searchstatus/
it allows you to do whois, backward links, archive.org, and others from the page you're currently on.
it's REALLY cool.

How about using the only "tool" that really shows links to your site that are actually getting you hits?
It's called your log files, and it ain't new.
