Yehyeh, I know, it's been hashed again and again, but...

1.) If a person could only vote on a podcast after having listened to at least (I dunno, 50% of?) one podcast via the "Podcast Alley" streamer (dunno about the technical feasability?).

2.) i love the idea of an Podcast review "e-zine" ala VOX monitor, but maybe with a larger group of contributing editors (puts hand on fire-extinguisher trigger) to accomidate the large number of podcasts already out there, and the huge numbers of new ones sure to come. (I have a feeling that some "business model" [in concert with iTunes 1.9?] is already in the offing for this ezine concept).

I say this not because I care about how many votes I get (hey- I think I got one total... oops, never mind... still at -3), but only because the easier it is to find good podcasts, the better.

Rank Casties as follows;
Every Month at a site the Podcast alley Gods select

No Limit Holdem tournament
starting with $2000 in chips
blinds start at $5/$10
blinds increase every 10 minutes
$25 ante starts at $150/$300 level

rank based on tourney finish.

Awesome idea Syd

keep the faith podPeople of the alley.

p.s. a nominal entry fee suggested where all proceeds go to charity

bravo dude bravo.

p.s.s. podcast this event
and for podGr*****pper
and advertising dude
and nursing dude
stuff the cast with ads and push crappy Alley merchandise
but but but but...those proceeds go to charity too.

Enough already Syd...this is not funny!!!!!!

While it would be nice to ensure that the people voting are actually listening, I don't think this will work, because the beauty of podcasting is being able to listen to what I want when I want.

I don't want to listen through the PCA player. I want to just add feeds to my iPodder and listen to them whenever I feel like it - almost always from my iPod. For this, should I be allowed to vote?

I would prefer to see a review system similar to amazons.
Where, in addition to being able to rate a podcast using a "star" scheme, you could also have the option of clicking on a yes / no for "was this review helpful to you. Over time, the reviewers writing the most useful reviews would be shown at the top of the list.

I also wouldn't be opposed to having some ranking based on the number of times a podcast's info was viewed...either the details, or the link to the feed, or what have you.

If I'm going to podcast alley, and I subscribe a podcast (which means finding it, getting the RSS, subsribing, having my PC download it via iPodder, and listening to it)...do I really want to go back to it, find it again, and vote for it?? No. No, I don't.

I vote for podcasts I listen to, because I like them, and the people I listen to want me to vote. However, I won't ask my listeners to do it. I think it's, quite honestly, silly to have to come back and vote, over, and over, and over...

I've seen the "My Alley" features...I hope there is a plan to have a ranking based on who's got who's podcast in "their alley"...

I dunno. I dig what theFerf is trying to do here with the voting. The podcasts need to be ordered in some fashion, and I don't really know what the answer is.

I was in no way denigrating the site - of course it's oh so awesome!

Just a thought on rankings for the sake of weeding... I figure Googlzon (http://epic.makingithappen.co.uk/) will eventually have something to sift intelligently through the exploding number of pc's (ic NBC news (http://www.podcastingnews.com/archives/2005/05/nbc_announces_p.html) is in the game now too!).

Haha! May the best pokerbot win?!
