Dude, no offense, but comparing yourself to those 2 does nothing for your image! :P Do your own show instead of trying to improve upon someone else's. :P

D & D ...I've only been able to listen to about 45 seconds
Dude -- I think you can do better than that.
They have an audience, so thats cool.
Just not for me.
Keep the dream alive.

Syd, can I just say you're looking well on 30 years of complete isolation from the outside world :)
Don't imitate, innovate, and all that jazz.

Wow, that is kinda strange... I thought there was a lot of stuff to listen to. I know I do a show that is updated pretty regularly... and I know I have a lot of podcasters I know that do ones I love to listen to. Maybe you don’t have your speakers or headphones on?

I'm downloading episode 2 now.
However, I will say that I had a really hard time finding the download link.
I'll post my thoughts after I listen.

I don't know where you're hosting your site, but it ain't gonna work. I have been waiting about 3 minutes for it to come up and it hasn't yet. Two times before this it has times out.

OK I gave it a try. It sounds like it was recorded in a cave and there is an incessant hiss. I couldn't get through more than 5 minutes.

I explain myself on these episodes on the site..
Episode #0 was us messing around
Episode #1 was a bit to low
Episode #2 Sounded Ok
Episode #3 using griffin italk on my ipod *which stinks, when importing resulting wav file to garageband*
Ugh... Any tips on fixing the audio quality would be greatly appreciated...

My best tip would be not to use an italk.

Episode 2 is what I listened to. It's sounds like you are in a dungeon and there is a noticable and steady hiss the entire show.

what do u recommend for mobile recording

You recorded episode 2 outside because your internet was down. I don't get what that has to do with recording. You don't need to be online to record.

it says it in the podcast i needed our neighbors wifi to upload the mp3 so i figured lets just record outside.

It sounds like you could have a good show in there somewhere, but if we can't hear it - how can you expect anyone to listen? There's just so much great stuff out there - the competition for attention is fierce. I suggest you record your next show as cleanly as possible (technically speaking, no echoes) so we can hear you better and maybe you'll see your audience grow - otherwise the bell tolls for thee...
Quoting Rob from Podcast 411 "Content is King, but Quality is Queen" and as I famously reminded him - "it sounds like the queen has left the castle"! Don't take it personally - work out the recording kinks and you should have a real gem of a show.
Good luck guys! Look forward to your improved sound and more shows.

Uploading and recording are two different things, man. Unlistenable sound means no one can hear or understand parts of your cast, or it's so annoying that it is ultimately a distraction that results in people turning it off.
As for mobile recording...go iRiver. No question about it, best bang for your buck. The cheapest iRiver with line-in recording and a $9 computer mic will improve your quality by two or three orders of magnitude.
You gotta beat the quality issues if you want people to listen long enough to get hooked on your content.

Yea, again, not having Internet has nothing to do with recording. It sounds like the batcave. I was waiting for a stalactite to fall and kill one of you. I can't imagine that it echos like that outside - it sounds like an effect you added in later. No dynamics processing whatsoever would have sounded better most likely.
I didn't pay much attention to the content because of the quality, but it wasn't that stimulating. It's good to be proud of your podcast, but I don't think you should be on here challenging Dawn & Drew quite yet.

Thank you for all your comments and I retract my topic we are not direct competition for Dawn and Drew, as far as the audio quality that will get better in time... Again thanks for all your time...
Podcasting is a fun hobby thats all.

If you take anything away from this thread, by all means don't stop podcasting! You guys have a great angle and all the pieces for a great show. We look forward to hearing you develop, just work on your technique and everything else will fall in place.
If it doesn't kill you it will only make you stonger.
Persist!
