Ok. I went to ipodder.org found a show I wanted to listen to, then when I clicked on it it went to a link like http://whatever.com/station/casting.xml
and some kind of code went on the screen but no music played.
What happened? You can just click on a link to listen to it on your home computer?, and how do you download these stations to your i-Pod? and does it cost money to download to your I-pod, like how i-Tunes says you can download songs at .99 cents each or napster or whatever
thanks

What you are looking at is the XML file that contains the link for the audio enclosure. This XML file is what is used by a podcast aggregator (a program that searches within this XML file for updates, and then downloads the audio file to you computer). Many of the shownotes pages also contain a clickable link, if you would like to listen this way. For example... my webpage at http://kcweather.blogspot.com has the link to my shows, while you would add this link: http://feeds.feedburner.com/kcweatherpodcast to your aggregator so you can automatically check for and download updates. I like Doppler, but iPodder is good as well. Both are free and can be set up to download directly to iTunes or Windows Media Player playlists that can be easily synced with your MP3 player.

Rob at Podcast411 has a great tutorial about getting yourself set with subscribing and downloading shows...

Good luck! :)

MesoEd Just wait until I tell Just Pete and NASA Janet that you are frequenting other Podcast forums.

They will be crushed!

Learning, when you're faced with that page look at the URL in your browser. That's the path and file name you need to put in your aggregator. Highlight it, copy it, and paste it into your iPodder or whatever other software you're using.
