do not use it ouside unless you wrap some pantyhose around it first. it's a windnoise magnet.
indoors, it's not bad for a $20 mic.

If you want to hear an Iriver with this griffin mic, go to http://www.3ringpodcast.com and look for the soundseeing tours of Disneyland. As you will hear, sound is good but wind noise is a big problem.
Show 9 of my show was done entirely on the griffin mic, both in the car and at home.

Craig due to how noisy(lots of white noise) the mic preamp is in the iRivers I would strongly recommend an external mic preamp so one can use the line level input. Here is a very small(2" x 4") battery operated mic preamp that will work:
