So, quick question......

How often do you turn your iPod into a bulemic supermodel, and purge all of the listened-to podcasts out to make room for the future?

I still have about 6gig remaining on my 20gig 4g, and only about 2 gig total are podcasts so I'm just a little curious. Thanks, and sorry for discriminating against non podders :?

I actually purge my listened-to podcasts within 1-2 days of listening. The only podcast I have listened to more than once is Craig's "Secrets of a Successful Podcast", so there is no need for me to keep the rest, although they may have been good shows.

I made a playlist called "Podcasts" on my iRiver H-10, so I update that everyday with new podcasts and delete the ones I have already listened to. That helps me make sure I listen to everything I download and nothing gets lost on my computer.

I use an iPod shuffle and bought an fm transmitter for it so I can listen to podcasts on the ride to work . I find its great for podcasts which I purge approx. every other day unless its a music show that has some songs I have to find and or want to still listen to again from the show.

I also have an iriver h10. I have it full with my music collection and somtimes use it for napster which I got as a gift but dont really use often.
I was wondering about your h10. When I put large files like a 30mb podcast on my h10 it spins the drive and messes up the screen. My h10 doesnt like files larger than 10 mb. I was wondering if you noticed any problems with your h10 and larger files.
My shuffle works great for files. Maybe its the flash memory. I also sometimes use a sandisk companion usb and that is fine with large files too.

Im hoping that with iTunes podcasting I can more easily get files into my "podcast" playlist on my shuffle.

Off topic
I like the shuffle more than I thought I would. I also use my shuffle in my baseball cap for care free listening while working outdoors. I sewed in a protective snug little pocket in top of the hat and it can be easily controlled from the top with the hat on. The long wires wrap around the front through a small cut in the bottom ridge of the cap on one side and around the cap and then around the adjuster on the back of the cap . This really is cool to not have wires or a device dangling around or in a pocket or clipped on...Of course I also have a 20gb half filled with albums and obviously I like mp3 palyers lol. I guess I have an mp3 player addiction...

Hmmm...now that I think about it, I did have a problem with one very large MP3 once, and it was over 30mb. I haven't download a podcast that size since then though. I was having other H10 problems back then though.

Are you at the latest firmware? (v2.03)

Yeah, H10 users are having all sorts of problems, but I've been one of the lucky ones I guess.

I have visited there. I like the h10 for its features such as recording, fm, and pictures, but large files is not my particular h10's cup of tea.
I like the look and feel of it though and yes I have the new firmware.
Ive also used it as a usb mass storage ( not just microsoft mtp)by holding down the circle button after taking out the battery and starting it. Microsoft drm files also seem to take a little longer to fire up than I'd like. I guess they will fix that some day.
All in all the h10 is great for music and sounds very good. I just found mine to not like large files ( over 10 mb) and most podcasts are pretty large.
I have heard a lot of people knock the iPod shuffle for podcasting but it's actually pretty good, especially compared to my iriver h10. That said, I still think my h10 is a great full featured music jukebox, and with files under 10 mb and maybe 15mb on a good day, its fine for podcast listening. Its's possible that in a new firmware iriver can work out why the player has a problem with large files. This assumes its not just a problem or defect in my particular h10. About the other bugs, yes its had its share. Luckily some have been fixed with firmware lol.
