I am going to be producing a podcast that has a LOT of Skype calls in it. I have had bad luck with Audacity (poor quality, echo, etc). So I am concidering putting out cash for a program.
I am on a Windows XP machine and will be doing all the recording on one PC (unless I can talk the wife into a iRiver for fathers day! )
For those who have done the Castblaster beta, how does it compare to Mixcast Live? Is it worth waiting for Castblaster?
Thanks in advance for the advice!
Jim

Both Mixcast Live and CastBlaster are in beta right now so, as a practical matter, neither is an option at the moment (although Mixcaster seems to be selling a pre-release version, ostensibly with the ability to upgrade when the product's finished).
There are a few products you might consider that have the advantage of actually being available.
First, there is a product called Propoganda. You can find info at:
www.makepropaganda.com
There is also a pair of products from a company called Industrial Audio. Their web site it:
www.industrialaudiosoftware.com
Their low-end product is iPodcast Creator; they also have a product with a slightly more robust feature set called iPodcast Producer.
Curt Franklin, my co-author, reviewed both products in a recent podcast. His conslusion is that they're both functional but they approach the show creation process differently. To a certain extent, then, your choice would depend on how you want to work.

Just my opinion, but Propaganda has a whacky interface and at times kind of weird to get files exactly where you want them (and their ftp is not exactly 100%). Epodproducer had you flopping back and forth between two interfaces. If you want to just record the skype call, I've heard alot of people talk about totalreocrder.com (cheap and it works). I've had bad experieinces with hotrecorder.com Most of these products have tutorials at my site.
