I love it. I just wanted to network with others who are using it also.

It is the slickest program ...other than audacity for we Macintosh fans.

I'm using it. I like it although I don't know it as well as I probably should. My only problem is a latency problem (delay while recording) that sometimes plays havoc with our show.

Every Dr. Floyd episode is edited on GarageBand. We don't use anything else. It really does just about everything I need it to. Just wish the Pitch SHift sounded a little better. ANyway, it's good.

The Living Word, Morning and Evening, Rachel's Choice, and Behind the Scenes are all recorded and mixed in GarageBand.

I use garageband fopr recording but I do not use it for mixing. I just do not feel comfortable mixing my tracks with it. I used Cubase for mixing and export. Is garageband easy to use for mixing too? Can you export to any other format then .aiff?

Also, can someone tell me exactly how to use my iRiver 799 for recording the podcast off of garageband to handle latency?

I read somewhere that Garageband has a 35 minute limit on the length of a project. Is this true or only true in Garageband 1.0 ?

I know that Garageband 2 is in Apple's iLife 5 software suite($79 or included free in new Macs).

Actually Logic Express is the "Lite" version of Apples Logic program that is a music creation program for musicians.

For those that aren't musicians the audio recording, mixing, sound design/music creation Pro software for them is Apples Soundtrack Pro($299, not sure what the educational price is) that has hundreds more features, a lot more music loops, sound effects and much more.

Actually, the time limit depends on the beats per minute. If you set the song BPM to 60 (instead of 120), you can get over an hour of recording time. That's for 1.0, anyway. One BIG advantage of GB2 is multi-track recording ... recording simultaneous mics/sound sources on different tracks. Awesome. Definitely worth $80.

See my new post here for an explanation of why this is true and how to extend it to almost 3 hours:

Sorry, I must have missed that. Just run the headphone jack from your Tibook to the line in on your iRiver with a stereo 1/8" mini to stereo 1/8" mini patch cord. Not sure why you would want to do that though.

The point was made that any delay you may have in GB when recording would be fixed if you record to an outside device rather then the Tibook. The iRiver was one reccomended to me over the Podcastrigs forum. In fact I thought it was suggested by you. Sorry if I was wrong.
