Didn't see this mentioned yet. Is it the "end" of podcasting?

Article the station was mentioned at is:

Not the end to podcasting from what I see. I skimmed the article and it looks like the station will only be broadcasting material that follows FCC rules. By that standard, it would probably be a very "watered down" version that would bite into, but not destroy podcasting. Adam Curry's DSC wouldn't even work there as he sometimes uses words like "****" and "****" and forget Dawn and Drew or Yeast.

Just my $0.02

I actually brought this story up in another thread:

I uploaded our show. I dunno. We'll see what happens when they go live.

I don't see how this could be bad for podcasting. It will spread the concept.

It's an interesting idea, but I don't understand how they expect to screen the content. There's no way they will hire someone to listen to every hour of programming prior to putting it on.

I'm very interested in the programming side of this radio station. Also, considering that most podcasts are not produced on a set schedule, I really wonder what they are going to do to get 24 hours of content on a consistent basis.

I have contacted the program director for further information, and await a return call.

It didn't let me create the genre "religion", which really didn't surprise me considering it's based outa san fran! :P

Seriously though, I couldn't submit my file, so I emailed their tech support guy.

I normally don't leave messages, but I figured I'd take a chance on this guy.
