You can have them send them to you as WAV files and then you can play them directly on the show. I think you can change that in your options.

Which audio program? Do you know what codec is being used to encode them? You could always play them back while recording the stereo/mono mix from your sound card. That is what I have to do withe the voice mail files from eVoice.

I don't know of any audio program that cannot read wavs. What program are you using? Have you tried Quicktime player, iTunes, or Audacity?

Alissa,

I also noticed that iTunes doesn't seem to play them. I load them in Audition and convert to a 44.1 Khz Wave file. I suspect you can do the same in Audacity.

I open them in Quicktime and they play just fine.

yeah. i can play them in quicktime. but i can't import them into my audio program because it doesn't recognize them. i use protools.

i guess my question is people who are playing them on their show, what are they doing. i might check out audacity. this it he free program right? i've also heard the soundforge can convert them. or i might try the play them through my sound card thing too. that's a good idea.

thanks for the tip.

I don't have any problem playing them in iTunes (pc), but that's a problem, because once I play them in iTunes, they get loaded onto my iPod, and my iPod not only can't play them, but it locks up when it tries to.

I record on an iRiver IFP 795, with a Behringer Eurorack UB802 hooked up to it. For the voicemails, I have my iPod hooked up to the tape in of the Behringer.

To get them on my iPod, I actually convert them to mp3 files using SoundForge.

Ah! - you know what? you are exactly right. THAT was the problem. Sorry - it had been a while since I tried it - forgot that. My ipod didn't lock up but it couldn't play them for some reason.....
