I've been asked where I get the Public Service Announcements that are played on Dailysonic. I figured I'd post some sites that offer PSAs here.

Make Trade Fair - I'm a huge fan of this campaign, demanding fair wages for workers in poor countries and an end to globalization. Some of these audio files a way longer than a typical PSA spot, and some refer to dates for events that have already past. My favorite one is by Ladysmith Black Mambazo (at the bottom of the page) http://www.maketradefair.com/en/index.php?file=21072003140956.htm&cat=6&subcat=2&select=1

The Ad Council - You have to create an account, but then you can download tons of PSAs in MP3 format, and even matching banner ads. They have PSAs for a whole slew of campains (Apathy is Lethal, Explore Freedom, Blood Saves, Etc.) The PSAs are overall well produced as can be pretty funny. http://psacentral.adcouncil.org/

PETA - PETA actually scare me a little bit. Some of their PSAs are more preachy than others. And some feature the voices of celebs. http://www.peta.org/mc/audio-psas.asp

Billionaires for Bush - An Anti Bush (Parody Pro-Bush) campaign. Really funny and create. Well produced. You have to delete the beginning of the MP3 file which is just some guy reading the PSA's ID number or something. http://www.billionairesforbush.com/radio.php

There are plenty of PSAs out there. If there's a cause you're interested in, try googling it + "PSA" or + "MP3." You can also email campaigns with PSAs that you've heard on the radio and ask for MP3s or CDs of their PSAs.

And one more thing. Some places that offer PSAs have hidden agendas. Make sure you know who you're giving air time to. The PSA may be relatively harmless, but they might be pushing something way more sinister. Beware the boogieman.

I hope this was helpful to some of you,
Adam
