why oh why isnt audacity in this list. its free, and incredibly powerful, and only a small download. its also the choice of a lot of podcasters out there. /slaps ferf. cmon ! :P

Audacity is very popular, I am excited to check out some of ferfs software links also..

As for my own experience with Audacity, it is only useful to me to convert mp3 and wav files. And even that it does excruciatingly slow. But I know it is very popular, I probably am a tard' with it.

(I use soundforge- I wannt get Soundforge 8 but its 300 bucks-yipes!)
