Computer illiterate idiot wants to put up a podcast. So far I've got a mic and have figured out how to save as a .wav file. Is there a simple step-by-step guide to get my file from my desktop to the big wonderful world of podcasting so that others might listen to my message? Point me in the right direction ... pleeeeeeeeeeeeez?

Hate to be one of those guys, but you really should search the forum and even do a google search. There's a TON of information out there that will answer your question perfectly.
Start Here:

Oh, a couple of good tips. I would suggest starting off with Feedburner right from the beginning. It's a good service from what I can say. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm way off base. Also, if you don't already have a hosting service for your Podcasts, really think about using Liberated Syndication. For $10 a month, you can have a nice start into the world of Podcasting.
Basically, you've just dipped your toe into a very big pond. Good news... the waters fine. Jump on in!

it's definetly a ton of fun and ridiculously addicting...you should take a look at audacity and see how you like that program to produce your shows!

I just answered your other post about Noise in your podcast. Audacity has a noise reduction capability that will do a fairly good job of it.
