Sony MDR-7506s in the studio. When I'm on the road it's Apple earbuds.

Same thing for me... MDR7506's. They actually do VERY well. Just be careful with them if you fold them up, the little wire can get pinched and break.

I've had mine for many years and it's never happened but someone told me that before I got them, so I thought I'd pass it along.

The Aiwa HP-X223 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=5343103&type=product&id=1051826206730). Thirty dollars, and sound good enough for podcast work! They're comfortable enough for a couple hours of use without bugging me too much, and the price can't be beat.

For recording the show I use Sennheiser HD 280 Pro's. They're relatively accurate if you care about music, and especially good for voice over. Especially for the money. Frequency range is Relatively flat. A bit bassey.

TONS of isolation. They're like sound protection headphones, the only thing you'll hear is the audio. Can't even hear my *wife* calling me. (That's impressive.)

Comfortable, yet sturdy.

$99 at Musicians Friend (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/242411/)

They aren't the best headphones in the world for full-time music enjoyment. A bit too heavy.

Wow I must be the most low-tech guy here.

that is what i use to record and listen. And honestly I get excellent quality. Craig I will send you an audio message to Behind the Scenes and mention that is what i am using so you can hear the quality, and i have a couple of questions for you.

I always use my Sony MDR-V600. I think they are great, they really block out everything and give a solid sound. But this is less required for pure talk...I use them for radio gigs where I am doing more monitering against much levels.

But for $100, the Sony MDR-7506 are also excellent headphones. An industry standard really. Pretty long lasting too. We have them at our college station and they have held up even though they get used by over 100 people per week.

Headphones?!? awwwwwww crap. We're supposed to be wearing headphones?

We don't wear any. Next few weeks we're making some phone calls while we record so we'll need headphones then. At which point I will break out my cheap *** Koss UR-15C headphones and hope they do the trick.

I use good MDR-V600's for my monitoring. They pick up EVERYTHING, and digital music sounds phenomenal in them. The second best $100 I ever spent. The first best was this time in Vegas, and this hooker had these massive....sorry.....yeah...those headphones are good.

We use three types:
AKG 240s (nice but a little loose on my small head)
Sony 7506 (very nice all around)
Audio Technica ATH-M40fs (very comfy, great for the 70 bucks I paid)

I HATE the sennheisers hd-280 or whatever. those things clamp your head like a vice, and I have a small head...couldn't imagine having a big watermelon head and trying to put those on.
