I'm looking for suggestions regarding a user friendly windows software package to create a podcast. Initially, I won't be doing much edititing, but would like to sequence effects, music, interviews, voice, and then create podcast on the fly.

Mixcast Live looks like good option as it supports Skype, and you can do some minimal editing of audio files. I also hear people talk about Audacity. Adam Curry mentioned that he is using Super MP3 Recorder Pro??Looking for package that's simple and under $100.

Thanks in advance...and totally confused....

Audacity is FREE, so you can't beat that price. It is very effective. I use that, Windows Media Player, and the SoundMax slider (click on the speaker in your system tray, near the clock). I just use the SoundMax to mute the mic during the songs. You can adjust the volume in WMP to keep the music input level acceptable. Total $$ spent on software? ZERO
