My wife has never said it, but I'm sure she thinks I spend WAY too much time reading about this Podcasting stuff. Well, now that I've found this article, I've got ammunition for her...
At least I didn't build one of these:

Seriously folks. Who has time for this stuff?

My wife said something about it one time and i looked at her and said, i didnt know your chain was long enough to get from the kitchen to my office!?
ZING!
Seriously though, my wife doesnt get anything i do online, but gives me tons of love and support to do what i have to do. She is starting to catch on to this whole podcasting thing as it continues to consume more of our lives. As a matter of fact, my mother in law is starting to catch on too. She called me this morning and blamed ME for her favorite local radio station going off the air claiming my podcast site killed her local station.
PS. I told her i would buy her an ipod for christmas and she would never have to listen to that shitty fm again. the bar has been raised my friends, people that are less and less techie are looking to podcasting to save them from the poor quality of fm broadcasts. we better start working longer hours.

No complaints. Mine likes it that I stay home at night recording rather than bar-hopping with my coworkers.
Wait...am I missing out? :)

my girlfriend could give two shits, she likes to come when we podcast because bibb has dogs and she likes animals (could that mean something), she doesn't listen to the show, only when she's there "live", but mostly all she does is ask me for hugs...like she is right now...

My wife went from "not another online obsession" to participating in a regular segment on my show. In fact, she went from "I hate my voice" to "it's not that bad" pretty quickly, too. I don't think I'll ever attempt to move to the increasingly prevalent "husband and wife" format, but having her contribute a piece here or there has both shown her some of the fun of podcasting and kept my show from being too monotonous.

No, my husband doesn't seem to mind, in fact he finds it all pretty funny...

Because of previous work in radio, my girlfriend totally understands the podcasting side of things including:
- 20 minutes always means an hour.
- 'Just a minute' mean an hour.
- 'Real quick', means 59 minutes to an hour.
- I listen to my voice lots...and then again.
- There is a reason I use headphones has mini-speakers (ie. have them turned up real load while using them)
At least with podcasting I am not in a radio/production studio somewhere, which I think she likes some what better.

If my wife ever bothered me about my podcasting she'd go on a fishing trip with me to the San Francisco bay. . .
