Approval time for new podcasts?

Any idea how long it takes a new podcast to be approved after its been submitted to the Alley?

with darn near 200 in the queue, I'd say it would take a couple days.

we get about 50 new submissions a day (on a good day) and do a lot of work to make sure all the feeds are working properly. I honestly try to have all feeds approved in 24-48 hours.

What you dont see about the current pending feeds (200) is that a good number of those have already been reviewed but are pending fixes by the author.

So what causes a podcast to be on hold for a long time?
1. Improper formatting
2. No enclosure tags
3. Podcaster doesnt respond to my emails
4. Issues with host or feed burner
5. many more...

Rest assured, im working my *** off to get this things going. I now officially spend more time in a day at Podcast Alley than working on paying the bills through design :)

mine never got approved. i was taking it personally until i realized my feed was broken. everyone said it's fixed now though. sorry to be a pain...

You should take them out of the pending pool if their stuff is broken. Use the mentality "Denied, fix it and go to the back of the line." It will save you from having to 'hold' their information and wait for an answer. Efficiency! If podcasting lives up to it's potential, you won't have time to review a million submissions.

OK, I realize there are lots of add reqeusts, but I believe I posted my reqesut over a week ago, and all feed works fine (I can get it through ipodder just fine). Would one expect to get an e-mail stated the reason a podcast has not been "approved"??

what is the name of your podcast? and yes, if there are errors, you will get an email. Im just a bit behind now.

Just a question; I'm not hatin' on ya or anything. Are you, theFerf, going through each feed and checking it? If so, why? Podtower adds the show immediately, as does Podcastpickle. Is it just a case of your technical-behind the scenes stuff not being as up to date as the other two?

Like I said, I'm not hatin' on ya. But I did want to get bitjobs in the directory ready for April.

So... is there some specific reason you've not listed my podcast which was submitted for listing on PA ~ month ago?? I've seen any number of casts on other directories get added, well after mine was on those directories, that also are showing up on PA. Don't take this wrong- I'm just a wondering, trying to be patient, and not bitching. Oh, and BTW, what does it take to get "HTML" turned on for posting so, for instance, the below code will display properly?

all podcasts are approved that were pending. Anything that was not approved, had an error with it in which case I always email the creator with the problems. Did i not send you an email?
