Planning is underway for PodcasterCon, a free users conference about podcasting.

The catalyst for the conference is AudioActivism's Brian Russell. According to Russell, "The focus will be on learning. In effect, it is an anti-expo without swag, without product promotion, and a way to keep podcasting fun!"

He adds, "My battle cry about podcasting for months now has been KEEP PODCASTING FUN!"

PodcasterCon is going to be held at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. The exact dates are being determined as we speak. Just about everything having to do with this event is being decided collaboratively.

Last night we had our first planning group meeting. You can listen to a recording and read notes of our conversation here.

I think there should be a convention for people who make giant bobblehead costumes of themselves. I can see it now... people walking around wearing gigantic versions of their own heads.

Close where are you? I was thinking the same thing, but Nashville is not all that close. But NC is closer that Southern CA.
