Hello,
Thanks for a great site. Am new to podcasting and I learned a lot from the forum. One question I havent found, what is the <ttl> tag for?

In different rss feeds I see different numbers inside the ttl tag. I'm not sure what to put here.

Many thanks.

found your answer on this site. never new that tag existed, but it is pretty sweet if it was intergrated for podcasters.

here is what they imply:
the <ttl> tag in RSS 2.0. It’s an optional element that gives to the ‘time to live’ time, in minutes, for the channel in question. It might not sound that interesting, but if you have a very popular RSS feed, it may save you a bit of cash on bandwidth costs...If a user has a newsreader that understands the <ttl> tag, then that newsreader should not let the user poll your feed more often than the time limit you specify. The example given above is ‘60’, meaning that a compliant newsreader should only poll your site every 60 minutes...
a good read if you have about 5 minutes to sit and think.

Wow. Thanks. My google search didnt find that page... The tag was included in some of the forum tutorials on how to create a feed page, thats how I found out about it. It is a good idea indeed.
