I have been using SONY Audio Studio 7.0 from their Sound Forge series and for the price it rocks. While not a real multitrack recording center you can easily create several tracks one at a time and mix them into a single bed. I had a Roland cdx1000 last year when doing voice overs that was really cool with 8 tracks and all kinds of effects but it did not sync with my pc. Sony Audio Studio works very well for what I am doing which is 90% talk/topical pods.
I am very new to this so I needed an EASY JERK PROOF program and this is the one for me. Alsocomes with 1001 sound effects that work nice with the jingles for my shows.
