*Monthly stats and overall stats for podcasters (both rating and downloads)
*Comments
*Allows you to view episodes with their descriptions
*User Bio's
*Contests with material and cash prizes
*Automatic RSS updates (submit RSS once, and we will update our site to include all new episodes or changes)
*Automatic detection of bad links
*and more features coming soon
We are always looking for suggestions for our site. Please tell us how we can make it better for you by emailing us at feedback@podtower.com

Looking forward to a competition where those who have been at it longest don't have a built in advantage. Congrats on the site!

Sounds like a good idea, but a big part of me objects to the concept of money for ratings, it could lead to a rise in even more bitterness, not naming any 2 particular shows, but you know what i mean. with this much fuss over a few stars, just think what might happen when theres some green bucks on the line :P
well, i've added myself to your site, and lets see what happens, hopefully lots of sharing and hugging and a lack of name calling and backstabbing, hey, we can think positive once in a while cant we? :P

I had a feeling the Podcast commies would start crying about this site. Look who's first, but Chairman Mao himself!

Nearly as cheerful as your monkey-president.

Go ahead, call him names. I despise him, and all the presidents before him.

I'm impressed. This implements many of the features I've desired, specifically, the actual listing of the RSS feeds, along with a non-daily voting structure. Hopefully, the site will continue to develop and attract more casts.

I have to agree, the site's implementation looks really good, although voting wise, what restrictions have been put in place to stop someone say, making 50 accounts with different usernames/emails, and using those accounts to vote for their own show? Are there IP restrictions on user accounts at podtower?
cheers,
rob

We have been thinking about that very problem. We were thinking about putting IP restrictions....but that still doesn't solve the problem completely, however it does make it more difficult.
Also we are very open to feedback, so if anybody has any ideas on that please let us know either in this thread or email us at feedback@podtower.com. We are also looking for site suggestions for features on the site. We have some more in mind and will be putting them in one at a time. First we have to clean up a few things that we noticed since we put it up.

If people have the time to cheat they will cheat. I could be lame and sit around all night releasing and renewing my IP address while deleting the cookies etc. Then I could vote all night long.
I'd suggest sheme of using a cookies, IP restrictions, and some sort of authimage scheme where the voter must put in a number randomly generated along the lines of a captcha (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captcha).
Then it would take a great more deal of effort to cheat. . .and most cheaters are lazy. Hence the whole cheating thing. ;)

This is a very neat idea and I like how when you submit a podcast it instantly pulls in a snap shot of entries.
This is going to be one to watch for sure.
