I am looking to find podcasters / podcast feeds that center around people using podcasting for the purpose of BEING the media. In terms of talk formats involving current events, politics etc. As well as people using podcasting for journalistic/documentary purposes. I'd like to help promote them as well as do some interviews (via email to start) with people using podcasting in this way. It will be for use on http://undergroundmedia.org The podcasts can be of any political or social leaning (right, left, center, etc.). We wish to focus on people being empowered by new and evolving technologies (such as podcasting) to break free of corporate media.
We have just launched the site and are also looking for contributers.
Feel free to email me (jascha@undergroundmedia.org) or post here to suggest podcasts, links, etc.
Thanks! :D

I don't know if this really fits, but I'm working with a group of catholics called "disciples with microphones" who are currently frustrated by the lack of creativity within current catholic radio. They want to sort of push the envelope and expand the voice of catholic radio to include quality storytelling, drama, etc. After being frustrated by no one listening, they're going to use podcasting to distribute and jumpstart the movement. Althought I'm the first one out of the gates, I'm in no way indicitive of the quality shows that are brewing behind the scenes. I feel like I'm doing mine to encourage others to do the same only much better and more creative.
So it's not really ant-corporation (most catholic radio stations struggle just to keeep going just like public radio), but sort of an alternate vision of things needing a new voice.

I would like to shamelessly promote my Libertarian Talk Show, Free Talk Live:
http://freetalklive.com
While we are actually a talk radio show that podcasts, I think we still qualify as underground considering that we are broadcast on more microstations than licensed stations..
Let me know what you think, or if there's anything else I can do.

In fact, I'm so elite that my little print newspaper in Mass., USA bit the dust along with lots of the BIG newspapers that bit the dust between 2001 and 2004 (though I like to say it's "cryogenically frozen" until such time as a cure can be found for community media income disorder).
So this podcast experiment is part of the larger experiment to find out if the so-called New Media (i.e. digital) can function in essentially the same role as traditional media, but with added user interactivity.
I locate a great open-source content management system (CMS) called XOOPs:
http://www.xoops.org
and have come to a pretty good equilibrium in the last couple of weeks. There is very little in the way of content, as I have to balance this project with my day job (like just about everybody else here).
Visit the site and then feel free to get in touch with me.
Best Regards

Sounds interesting. I'd like to hear how it goes and if you do a podcast on it please post a link. ;)
