please forgive my ignorance on this cuz i imagine even before asking it's a dumb question, but....

i've got pod2go for my aggregator of podcasts, etc. when i go through my list of podcasts i can click on one and then look into a box next to my list that is titled 'Headline' and in there it lists the show titles and then if i click on a title i can get a description of the show.

when i first saw this i thought it was running off the ID3 tags or something. but then i noticed, my fantastic little podcast - THE VIKING YOUTH POWER HOWER (huzzzah!) - does not have these 'headlines' or show descriptions.

now, i'm using dircaster to create the xml files. and it's great, highly reccomend it, it's so dirn easy. but i feel that that may be where my problem is.

am i correct in thinking that i can't generate these 'headlines' etc with dircaster? if i can can somebody point me towards a tutorial that shows me how? if i can't can somebody point my fragile little mind toward a tutorial so i can start doing this and free myself of dircaster?

aight, you fine people whoever help me out on this are amazing and thanked gratiously before your fingers ever start typing...

godspeed

I noticed in your feed the <title></title> of each <item> is left blank. If you put something in there like Viking Youth - Episode 5 that would show up as the 'headline'.

Also you should put some info about each episode in the <description> tag. Just about every website or client will use this information.

I think this is what you mean anyway. Hope this helps.

your probably exactly right. i wonder why dircaster isn't automating this. am i missing something that needs to be done for dircaster to read and create these?

I haven't used dircaster before, but does it get all the info from the mp3 ID3 tag? I'm just guessing but here are a few things to check:

- are the id3 tags are correct?
- does dircaster support id3v2 tags?
