Ok, I am relatively new to podcasting and RSS and XML and I *think* I am doing everything right, but I'm not entirely sure. I am looking for the help of someone here to straighten this out in my head and let me know if I've set this up correctly.

So here goes...when I first started my podcast, I set up my original XML file. I hosted it at my site. I then wanted to track stats on my feed...so I went to Feedburner and they set up a redirect for my feed. (http://feeds.feedburner.com/Jawbone)

I also went reading and saw that I could update my feed by using my Blogger site. So I chose SmartCast (which is an option in Feedburner) and added that to my feed. I thought that would make everything easier, so I wouldn't have to update the original feed at my site.

My question is: since I am using a combination of Blogger and the original XML file, which file do I need to update? Do I need to update the original XML file or is SmartCast smart enough to understand the blog post and start updating my feed from there? Or do I have to do one or the other. Please help! I think I am making this more confusing than it needs to be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Sounds like you are doing everything just right. You only need to update your Blogger site and then "ping" Feedburner through Ping-o-matic's website - pingomatic.com. It will "ping" Feedburner and updates your XML. Simple as that! You no longer need to worry about your original XML file anymore.

Here is the link to the Feedburner forum topic on this.

Good luck!

Thanks for the help comic geek!

I was thinking that since podcasting is so new, there are no real "experts" yet. So it's interesting to learn the ropes with everyone else. :)
