On the latest installment, we talk about the aftermath of our visit from the city inspector, we drink champagne and introduce listeners to Hobnose. We also showcase the music of my friends band Autumndiver.

Not to sound like an *** (too late) we've been doing it for awhile now, but that doesn't mean there isn't room for more bashing. The more the merrier, that old gag.

Hey Len,
That was a good show. I hope Nora enjoyed it. Next time you go to a Brazilian restaurant, however, you have to strategize. These guys are sharp -- they start you off with a gigantic salad bar, and then they bring out the meat in price order. By the time you get to the good steak, you have already eaten chicken, sausage, lamb, pork and almost anything else that will fit in a bar-b-q. But those caipirinhas are tasty drinks.

I can soooo identify with that. We have one just around the corner here. At 30 bucks a pop (fixed price without drinks), they wait 20 minutes to bring out the meat. Of course, you've spent the last 20 minutes drinking Sangria and eating all the potato-based salad bar items you can. I think I ate one piece of sausage and a small slice of some meat product before I went into a lethargic over-eating stupor.
Advice - resist the salad bar....

Yes, you're right about the wait. The thing is, at least here in New York, the salad bar in itself is amazing. (And as I recall Len saying theirs even had sushi). So they make it very hard to resist. Still, for $30, you want to get the most out of the trip.
I just thought of the guy who explodes in the Monty Python film (was it The Meaning of Life?) Way too true.

Sue -- I had no idea Brasa was a chain. Man, that sucks. I thought it was a really good restaurant in Cleveland. :(
I don't know how you could resist the salad bar. They make it pretty **** tempting. Not to mention that neither of us had eaten all day in preperation for the meal.

I went to Fogo de Chao here in Chicago and from the minute we sat down the Gaucho's were all over us with cuts of all types of meat. I went to the salad bar but got little there cause the meat was too **** tasty to pass up. I tried all nine meat selection and then had a few seconds of the ones I really enjoyed.
Expensive as hell but worth it as a special treat once or twice a year.

Don't know if its a chain, but its a common sort of restaurant these days. The one around the corner here on Market St is Cafe Do Brazil. Fogo de Chao is a chain. I used to go to the one in Dallas when I *gasp* lived there for a short time. I lived in Chicago for a bit too, didn't realize they had one!
Wow, I sure know how to get off topic. I'm usually starving when I go to those places too, thus the filling up on salad and appetizers waaaay too soon! :)
Sounds like you had a great time at Brasa!! 8)
