Curious if anyone has seen any company out there doing a sort of podcast package as far as microphones and such goes.

I know I heard the Podcast Brothers talking about this and I had wondered about it as well, but I haven't seen any out there.

I'm in the market for a new microphone and mixer and thought that if a particular vendor had figured out that podcasting was a good thing that I would support them and buy from them.

Hadn't seen that one, but it's exactly what I was thinking of.

Of course after checking it out the packages are rather vague and not that great. Bummer......

But, I've been dropping notes to online sites plugging podcasting and the package idea so hopefully it'll start clicking for them.

Thanks for the link.

i just purchased, from musicians friend, two mic/boom stand, calbe pacakges for 20 bucks each. Shitty mics (I also have a few good radio mics), but witha small pr amp,and a comp, seems l;ike you'd be good to go.
What about a package that would include hosting?

Not exactly 'package' but here's a good resource for looking at some different stock setups from under 300 bucks to over a couple thousand.

It also has some reviews and such, and good ideas for nice sounding gear:
