but still, no money, no ads on the site. i may need to incorporate some podcasting advertisements into the new site to start covering some expenses.

I'm just moving the advertising talk from this forum
New Site In the Works!

Many sites out there have those nice square "Community Ads", which are usually given away for free. I like them because they are on topic and not so much of a distraction. Why not charge a nominal fee for podcasts to advertise in such boxes. Maybe $5 a month puts you in rotation with everyone elses ads. I know I would be willing ot pay that for my upcoming podcast.

Just a thought. Any comments?

Yes, good idea. I actually work in the online ad industry myself. You could also look into affiliate marketing.

Community based ads would be perfect and I think people would support it.

I know I have some good friends who run http://www.microcinemascene.com and they started out with ads from just community members but then some bigger people bought ads as you'll see.

If your curious how they do their pricing check out their Ad Sheet (http://www.microcinemascene.com/cgi-bin/artman/exec/search.cgi?template=index/advertise.html)
