This is what I'm using to listen. It has replaced a Clie, a cellphone and an MP3 player in one unit smaller than any of the three. I used to have a Clie hanging from a beltclip on my left, and a Motorola V60 on my right; I looked like a geek gunslinger ready for a shootout at the Bluetooth corral.

It has GPRS connectivity, and it looks like Ipodder will have support to get feeds directly (the link for the software is broken), but downloading podcasts over DSL is much faster (GPRS can be a little slow--and pricey although I have a 50MB/month allotment), and I have better control over what syncs and what doesn't.

Outfitted with a 512MB flash memory card (the tiny type used in some cameras), the phone can store more podcasts than I can listen to in a day, plus a pretty good stash of my favorite tunes..

I think this is the future; all-in-one personal appliances. For instance, I don't worry about being out of touch. An incoming cell call interrupts the podcast and gives me the accept/reject choice. After the call is completed (or roundly rejected), the phone returns me to the mp3 right where I left off.

A text message/MMS message or email gives me a polite beep mixed in the audio stream, and if I want to roll my sleeves up and code my own stuff, I can watch my online servers at the office over a VPN and be cued to any disturbances in the force.
