Hi,

I am trying to figure out what font to use in Photoshop for a new button.

It's the common looking tiny rectangle style button that are used to advertise the name of a site, podcast, rss, etc . It seems that all the buttons out there use the same font. If you look here, http://podcastrigs.com it is the balck and blue button that says 'podcast rigs' towards the bottom, above the post.

thanks

I've never found the right font so I just go to

http://www.kalsey.com/tools/buttonmaker/

and make any I need automatically.

GREAT site!!!

Oh and another good one is http://gtmcknight.com/buttons/ which has a ton of great premade buttons for your use.

It kinda depends on how long your name is going to be. If you have room to spare, Arial is a wider format font. Helvetica is a Mid-range width font and Myriad is a fairly narrow font. Another thing you can try is, if you are using a new version of Photoshop, when you select the text tool, in the top tool bar next to the font there is an icon that says "a a" with a drop down. Play with the setting in there to get a better look (through aliasing) like by using "none" or "crisp".

Just my 2 cents.

GREAT site!!!

that is SO cool! I've tried to make them too, with little success as you need the right Pixelfont (one that doesn't alias but looks good at small sizes)

I was trying to make those **** buttons forever--that website is amazing! I made a button in less than 5 seconds!

Thanks for the tip!
