I was using IpodderX, found it to be very buggy but I was okay with it. Until I upgraded, and it asked me to pay for the software.
Once it becomes a better product I may consider paying for it, but right now I'm not interested.
So, what are you using to grab all your podcasts?

I tried iPodder and iPodderX. I wasn't really impressed with either. There is an Mac OS X app called PlayPod (http://www.iggsoftware.com/playpod/) that is more enjoyable.

You might want to take another look at iPodderX.
I was in the same boat, got the shiver once they created a pay version, but then I saw that the creators are giving away 100% of their profit if you use the code "HELP" when you buy your copy.
Not only will your $20 go to the people hit by this horrible disaster, but you also get a very good podcast down-loader. Kind of like a free version... kind of.

Check it out, I think you will be very impressed with the full iPodderX application. I've found it to be very stable on an up-to-date system. Plus the developers seem really open to suggestions.
Just a thought, oh and I'm not in any way affiliated with iPodderX!

Sorry, I have to plug PoddumFeeder since I have grown pretty intimate with it. It's completely built out of AppleScript studio, but it works pretty well. Take a peek at http://www.ifthensoft.com/poddumfeeder.html.
We have an OPML viewer, subscription manager (trade with your friends!), and the ability to convert downloaded MP3's into bookmarkable AAC for your iPod. We have the standard timer, ability to download selected shows, see extended information about PodCast, etc. You can even send bug reports any time you wish, right from within the program (or just iChat me!)

I also just found a great little App called Pod2Go
It's like a super duper organizer for your iPod. It downloads RSS feed as text files, syncs your bookmarks... you name it it does it. It also downloads Podcasts...
Try it out it has a 15 day free trial
Just a thought.

I use iPodderX but I don't like it...I've never been able to get the automatic update to work properly. The one nice thing that keeps me using it is that I can set Playlist and Genre for each podcast.
Still waiting for that perfect client. Doppler on Windows looks nice.

Okay, I've been trying all of the software suggested on this thread, but the one that IMMEDIATELY has blown me over is the beta version of NetNewsWire.
The beta supports podcasting, itunes connected, and just looks great. So far it's been a beautiful thing.

Doppler for windows is really nice. it was my favorite till recently, when I went out and got myself a mac. now I have to start the game all over again of finding out which one works best for me.
maybe on the site I can have a rating system for the different softwares and people can post comments about why the like/disllike the different clients.
would other people find this useful?
