Perhaps a PodCast can be done in support of the tragedy?

i was thinking we could sell a mp3 download compilation album as it will get more young people to donate as they will be receiving something in return 4 a donation :?:

I would be interested in finding a way to help relief efforts. I can't believe all that has happened! Lets think about what we can to do with podcasting to raise some money for them. The CD could be good...what do you suggest be on the it?

i have a lot of bands in my contacts who have given me permission to use their tracks im sure some would let us use 4 this and also if the podcasters request material we will be inundated with material maybe even each podcaster finds one track so its truly a joint effort
i have loads of contacts so let me know what you think and who should i speak to about organising this thanks

Have you seen what iPodderX is doing??

http://ipodderx.com/blog/index.php?p=3

I thought this was AWESOME of them to do.

Also, I have contacts with some bands who I KNOW would be cool with a donating a track to a compilation album if one were to come together.

If discussions really get going on this please include me. I'd like to help in any way I can.

If I can be of any help, whether through my podcast or by contacting bands, please let me know.

Let's organize something: personally I like the concept of an actual CD.

Once we have a clearcut mission, foundation, etc...I'll contact all the bands I've played previously and see if they would be willing to contribute a track......

When I think of how distraught the USA was over 9/11, losing over 3.000 people, I cannot even wrap my head around the death toll numbers...

Please tell me how I can help.

We can all try plugging amazon's Red Cross donation button which seems to be working really nicely. Quick, painless, and 100% of all donations go to the Red Cross. It's already raised over 7 Million dollars! Up from 4 Million yesterday.

Amazon Page (ttp://www.amazon.com/paypage/PX3BEL97U9A4I)

Also you can add the following code to your website and all your visitors will be greeted with a personalized message asking them to donate.

For all of us podcasters without sponsors, maybe this can be our first.

hi ben i read an article that said funds donated to red cross dont neccesarily go direct to the tsunami disaster ? does anyone know if this is correct
www.dec.org.uk is the umbrella group of charities /funds set up 4 this disaster by the government
also the bbc website has a list of the charities involved and how to help

Thanks for posting the code. I just added it to both of my blogs.
