I have a Dell DJ and use Dudebox by redchair software to upload my content to it. The folks at Red Chair have done some cool stuff like making the dell dj an internet audio server. I sent them an email asking about adding a function to grab podcasts and was told they were already working on it!! They also have software for many different players. http://www.redchairsoftware.com/
