I am just not seeing this yet! As stated in an earlier post, I tried to d/l the Adam Curry interview on BBC with Bit Torrent. I was a few days late in starting the download and obviously by the time I started all the seeds were gone. I finally received the file in just over 2 days (132mB!).

In my experience with Torrent, if it is a popular file ... the download is fast and accurate but give it a few days and the seeds are gone and no one will wait for days to grab a file.

What about the up and coming shows .. those will little popularity. There may not be enough seeds to find an audience.

Am I not getting it? Everyone's opinions would be appreciated. I think BT is a great and vcool technology, but as an accurate and reliable method of downloading podcasts. At the moment, I'll pass.

I just post the rant on BT and I find this interesting article through Slashdot and Andrew McCaskey's Slashdot Review podcast. Here is the information I am finding on a decentralized BT network technology developed by SuperNova.org called Exeem.

I don't know much about BitTorrent, but I thought BT would pick up the file from the original "seed" location if there weren't any peers serving.

Is that just an "optional" thing, or am I completely wrong?
