Ok. So I was contacted by a company that makes a couple of great mobile device applications including: quick access to medical, pet and mechanical information ...via your phone. They are looking for ways to spread the word about their software. Here is what they sent me:
We have an innovative range of products developed using mobile technology which are relevant on a worldwide basis.
MOBIMEDIC, MOBIMECHANIC and MOBIPET are only 3 of an evergrowing "MOBI" family. Details of MOBIMEDIC and interactive demo can be found on www.medi-scot.co.uk this will give you an idea of what these applications are about.
With 54.7 million mobiles in the UK alone this technology offers massive sales & marketing opportunities. We are looking at all ways of tapping into the marketplace and podcasting offers a new and exciting avenue.
Can you advise and help us to explore how we can effectively use podcasting?
Not that i am an authority on this, but I offered him two simple solutions:
1. pay to advertise in someones podcast (where relevant...GeekNewsCentral, MobilePodcast, etc)
2. create their own podcast and distribute information about medical issues, mechanical issues and pet issues.
What I had explained was podcasting is about 2 things: the content, and how the end user gets the content and that he needed to work within this framework and not just try to sell, sell, sell.
What are your ideas on this..agree, disagree..more ideas?
