Please use this section to post as many possible different ways to make a podcast and deliver it.
Useful stuff in the section would include: links to hardware reviews, software (for making podcasts), how-to guides on editing podcasts, a first-timers guide, budget equipment and more.
What else would work in this section? Links to good places to host podcasts, discussions on potential bandwidth consumption and time needed to make podcasts.

Be sure to visit the software section ( http://www.podcastalley.com/forum/links.php ) to find links to websites, tutorials, software and more for creating your podcast, your podcast feed, hosting your podcast and more.

My website has an article on how to legally use music that is copywritten by someone else. I posted it under its own topic but it might be useful here also.
www.bradrollans.com click on the podcasting article. Feel free to download it and send it to your friends. I'm just trying to give a little back.

Okay, I need some information and I'm hoping someone can help me. I know it's a hassle but I promise, I will really appriciate it.
I want to make a Podcast with two friend who both live in different states. Is this possible?
Here is what I need to know:
What products do I need to buy/install to start a Podcast?
Where do I go to edit my Podcast? I'd like to have music at the beginning and possibly screen in quotes or peices from different authors on MP3.
Do I need to buy a certain software so host my Podcast? (Like GoDaddy.com?)
How do I connect with my two friends?
After we record our Podcast, what can we do with it? How do we broadcast?
Yeah, I'm a total novice but this info is hard to find. I'll be greatful for any response. Thanks ya'll!

If you want to get your post noticed better, you should post as its own topic, rather than inside thie one. You'll get more help that way.
Also, most of the information you're asking about is already in the forums. It might take a little research, but it's there. Also, check out Podcast411. (http://www.podcast411.com/) There's a lot of great info there! And you might want to consider subscribing to them.
Best of luck,

One great thing about podcasting is that you can do it at home with a basic Mac or PC and an inexpensive microphone (I would recommend against the built-in one). High-end equipment is nice, to be sure, but many of the best podcasts out there are recorded and edited with basic equipment and widely available software.
One of the major problems for first-time podcasters is that any time they say the letter P, it comes across as a popping sound. You can buy a pop filter like the Onstage ASVS6GB Microphone Pop Filter, or just stretch some panyhose over a frame of coathanger wire.
