The 6.5 Questions
|
1. How long have you been podcasting?
I've been recording the videos since the New Year which is almost five months now.
2. How many shows have you done?
So far I've released twenty four, I'm really getting into the swing of it and I'm planning to keep putting out a show 3 times a month.
3. How has your quality/performance changed since your first show?
I was a little nervous at first as a podcasting audience is very different to who I've been performing to before. Since doing the first few shows I've had so much good feedback from the podcasting community which makes me feel more comfortable with presenting the show. Some of the web addresses for the podcasts which I review can be a mouthful, now I just send everyone over to http://podfinderuk.podshow.com to read the episode notes instead!
4. What podcasts do you listen to and which are your favourites?
Finding and reviewing six podcasts per episode means I'm forever trawling through ten times as many new shows to find the best quality ones, so I
don't have much time to listen to a regular favourite! I always give my honest opinion when I'm reviewing so you'll just have to check out my show
to see which ones I really like. If a quality show isn't to my personal taste it doesn't mean it's bad - I'll still review it and let you know who I
think might enjoy it.
5. Tell us about your show and who should be listening to it?
It's a regular video show where I review 6 audio and video podcasts and select a sample clip so viewers know what to expect when they subscribe. Its
aimed at anyone who'd like to discover quality new podcasts. Its not just targeted at pod-virgins, I actually get thanked from long-time listeners for
pointing out some of more obscure shows which they didn't know about; there are always a couple in every show. I put a lot of work into discovering new
shows and will endeavour to put a mixture of popular ones alongside more specialist ones as well mixing different genres in each show. Its very
similar to the original Podfinder presented by Adam Curry, except my show focuses mainly on the UK; my producer also wanted me to release it on video
instead which must mean I'm better looking!
6. What is your background (especially if relevant to your podcast)?
I've done some tech TV work before like Blog Nation and Brainiac, working on Podfinder UK means I have an entire show to myself!
6.5 Is there anything else your listeners should know about you, your show, etc?
Sure, if you want to recommend a cool podcast that you think fellow viewers would enjoy then head over to my site and drop me a message. Also, don't
forget to subscribe - I'm at http://podfinderuk.podshow.com!
