The 6.5 Questions
1. How long have you been podcasting?
My husband created Podcast Alley in November of 2004.  He was such a part of the podcasting community that the more I learned, the more I wanted to be a part of it. I was a personal trainer at the time and thought that podcasting would really allow me to teach and answer health and fitness questions on a bigger scale. In June of 2006 I started Fitness Attack and to date I have published 239 Episodes, not to mention 15 Episodes of Fit Life, 33 Episodes of Assercize and a handful of Fitness Attack en Espanol Episodes (Thanks to the StyleDiva!).  I also do the original Adam's Assercize segment every week on the Daily Source Code.

2. How many shows have you done?
Like I mentioned above... 239 Episodes so far, and growing. Since I do at least one show per day, it is amazing to see how many episodes accumulate over time! We are also looking to add a few more things in the coming year - so stay tuned!

3. How has your quality/performance changed since your first show?
My equipment is all the same, but I hope the quality has improved as I've learned along the way. I still use Garage Band to record and although nobody knows it, I record episodes from all across the country, from San Francisco to Nashville Tennessee. I try to keep the format really consistent so people know what to expect and when to expect it. Although with so many episodes, we are now diving into the archives for Flashback Fridays to bring back some of the important topics in the past. Health and fitness is amazing because so much of it is timeless.

4. What podcasts do you listen to and which are your favorites?
In terms of podcast requirements, I listen to Daily Source Code and the Rock 'n Roll Geek Show. I use to listen to more when I was commuting in a car, but it's just too hard for me now that I am on a motorcycle. I also stay up to date with a lot of health and fitness podcasts too including Phedippidations with Steve Runner and Fitness Rocks that my friend, Monte, produces.

5. Tell us about your show and who should be listening to it?
I think everyone can benefit from my show because it is general information about how to live a healthier life. We discuss trends, myths, food, recipes and of course, fitness. And best of all, it is only 60 seconds, so you don't have to commit a lot of time to getting healthy! I like to say "from zero to healthy in sixty seconds flat!" and am really considerate of my users' time. Becoming healthy and staying that way should not be something that consumes your life, so I provide little tips that you can easily integrate into your everyday routine.

6. What is your background (especially if relevant to your podcast)?
I am a certified personal trainer from San Diego State, NASM, Scirion Institute, APEX and AFAA for group exercise. I also have a BS in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from Purdue University. I've been a hip hop and jazz dancer and choreographer, I've taught dance classes, been a coxswain for Purdue Crew and was a nationally competing cheerleader in school.  I've always been active and attribute that to my attraction to fitness.

6.5 Is there anything else your listeners should know about you, your show, etc?
It is only a minute long!! Everyone can find a minute to learn something. Plus, we are now offering it in Spanish as well (, so there are no excuses!! I also have a couple other shows, Assercize which is a spinoff from DSC ( and Fit Life, a video podcast about living a healthy life ( Fit Life covers news, trends, myths and more in a short, 5 minute video format and is released once a week.
