The 6.5 Questions
1. How long have you been podcasting?
Oct 1 2004
2. How many shows have you done?
3. How has your quality/performance changed since your first show?
My first show took 3 hours to get in the can and published I now have it streamlined so that I can have show notes and all production done in under a hour. We all live busy lives and with a wife and 4 kids and a full time job the show usually gets done about midnight which is not the best time as the voice is gone, energy is down and you have to get pumped up to keep the quality up. Plus I am re-using public speaking tools I have not used in years trying to keep the And's and Ummms down to a minimum it is a challenge at times.
4. What podcasts do you listen to and which are your favorites?
I listen to the Rock and Roll Geek Show, Ipodio, Adam Curry, DND, IT Conversations and a dozen or so others.
5. Tell us about your show and who should be listening to it?
I am a techno geek but I break the information down so the average Joe can understand it, if you are concerned about Intellectual Property rights, infringement by the RIAA and MPAA along with anything that has to do with technology this is the show for you. We try to cover a science topic and techno political issues when they raise their ugly heads.
6. What is your background (especially if relevant to your podcast)?
I have worked in Research and Development of advanced electronic systems in the Aviation field for 21 years. I specialize in a certain field but do not discuss that subject area as it would raise a non disclosure issue with my employer. I have been online before people knew what the Internet was and still am involved in the old school Bulletin Board's at www.bbsnets.com
6.5 Is there anything else your listeners should know about you, your show, etc?
We only put out a show twice a week which is available by 5am EST Monday and Thursday we are one of the first podcast to accept advertisers but we are limiting the advertisement to 1, 2 minute spot we are just trying to cover bandwidth cost. I would encourage listeners to provide us feedback call me on skype at geeknewscentral or call the voice mail at 619-342-7365 or email at [email protected]
